Diabetes and your teeth: Tips for dental care
Managing your blood glucose levels can help prevent dry mouth and ensure that your gums and teeth stay healthy.
To keep your teeth and gums healthy:
- Brush and floss your teeth properly.
- Remove and clean dentures daily.
- Have a dental check-up every six months, if possible.
- Postpone any dental work which isn’t an emergency when your blood glucose levels are not in control (high).
